Are you over 50 years of age?
As the natural lens of the eye ages, it will lose focusing power first. We call this presbyopia. This is characterized by the need for reading/bifocal glasses or multifocal contact lenses. As the lens continues to age, it develops cloudiness we call a cataract. Cataracts create a myriad of visual problems including difficulty with night driving, seeing in dim light, glare, difficulty reading, etc. Everyone over the age of 50 has presbyopia and often will notice these early signs of cataract.
